Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to our FAQ section, designed to address common queries about our vessels and the processes involved in their construction and certification. Whether you’re considering a commercial catamaran, a passenger vessel, or any other type of boat, we’re here to provide clarity and insight into our manufacturing practices and regulatory compliance.

At A&M Manufacturing, we’re committed to durability and longevity in our vessels. Unlike some manufacturers, such as Corinthian Catamarans that use marine plywood and balsa core, we opt for composite construction. This involves high-quality materials such as fiberglass, Coosa board, anodized aluminum, and stainless steel to ensure our boats stand the test of time without wood components.

Our boats are specifically designed with hulls optimized for outboard engines. This design provides a shallow draft for beaching and navigating shallow waters, setting us apart from manufacturers like Cooper Marine and Corinthian Catamarans. Our integrated outboard platform is built directly into the hull, enhancing the boat’s integrity and strength while maintaining a metal-free waterline.

A&M Manufacturing streamlines the COI process for you. We handle all documentation and conduct necessary tests, including the dead weight survey and stability test, at our facility under USCG supervision. This comprehensive approach allows us to provide a guaranteed delivery date for your vessel and the associated documents. The final step involves a local USCG inspection to verify onboard safety measures and your captain’s proficiency with emergency procedures.

Our vessels are currently certified for Protected and Partially Protected waters under Subchapter T of the USCG regulations.

The specific COI requirements for commercial catamarans or passenger vessels vary depending on factors such as size, intended use, and operating area. However, generally, vessels must undergo inspections and testing to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards set by regulatory authorities such as the United States Coast Guard (USCG).

At A&M Manufacturing, we prioritize adherence to commercial catamaran COI standards throughout the vessel construction process. We utilize high-quality materials, rigorous testing procedures, and comprehensive documentation to ensure that our vessels meet or exceed regulatory requirements. Additionally, our experienced team works closely with regulatory agencies to facilitate the COI process and ensure timely certification for our customers.
